A training to encourage sex workers to make informed decisions about their financial situation, their career and their health.

Training Manual Training of Trainers

This manual supports trainers giving the three-day course ‘Training of Trainers’. The objective of the course is to give new trainers the knowledge, skills and practical experience required to provide workshops on any of the topics that they consider relevant.

Training manual Counselling skills

This manual supports trainers to adequately facilitate a 3 day training course Counselling skills for (health) professionals working with the sex worker community. Participants will work on a non-judgmental and non-confrontational attitude towards sex worker issues and behaviour change.

Training manual Health, Rights and Safety

This manual was developed by Aidsfonds under the Hands Off programme. It supports trainers giving the four-day course ‘Training of Trainers – Health, Rights, and Safety’. The objective of the course is to give new trainers the knowledge, skills and practical experience required to design and provides workshops for their peers. The training course consists of a variety of exercises to train sex workers on the topics of sexual and reproductive health, sex workers rights, and safety at work.

Training manual Leadership

This manual supports trainers to adequately facilitate the 3-day training course Leadership skills. The training is meant for sex workers working for, or involved with, community-led organisations. Leadership is not neccessarily an exclusive skill for managers of organisations, but one that can be adopted by staff at different levels of the organisation.

Training manual Material Development in Ten Steps

A training on methodical development of IEC materials for sex workers. In this training sex workers and (government) health professionals collaborate to develop materials. Ideally, national government representatives also participate in the training.

Training manual Peer-based outreach

The main aim of this training is creating effective collaboration between profesionals and peers towards a common understanding of, and ability to act upon, outreach work in the sex worker community. This training is meant for outreach workers, including nurses, health assistanst, medical doctors, as well as sex workers and peer educators.
