The South African Centre for Epidemiological Modelling & Analysis (SACEMA) is a national research centre, focusing on research in quantitative modelling of spatial and temporal patterns of disease. The aim of the research is to understand and predict the development of various diseases, and to provide advice on how best to combat them. The research focuses on issues pertaining to major infectious diseases, incl. HIV and TB, although not to the exclusion of other epidemiological problems.
