Vacancy: Senior Project Officer

Vacancy: Senior Project Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated senior project officer for our key populations team!

Senior project officer (32/36 hours per week)

Worldwide, key populations continue to account for a disproportionate number of HIV infections and AIDS deaths. We have the tools to ensure that people living with HIV can live a healthy and long life, and new infections can be prevented. Gender- and power inequalities stand in the way of access to good prevention, treatment and care for many LGBTQI+ people, people who use drugs and sex workers. Aidsfonds is committed to supporting these communities to access their health and rights. The key populations team contribute to this aim by supporting community-led partnerships and projects and by leading on global advocacy.

The Love Alliance is a five-year strategic partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs focusing on advocacy for health and rights for LGBTQI+ people, people who use drugs and sex workers in 10 African countries. The senior project officer will primarily support the Coordinator of the Love Alliance in her day-to-day coordination of the partnership. As such you will be part of the administrative lead team. Your main responsibility is to coordinate the annual planning and reporting cycle in close collaboration with diverse alliance partners and working groups, and make sure the plans as described in the full project proposal and annual plans are implemented.

  • You are able to stimulate working group leads for new ideas and be their sounding board regarding the Love Alliance efforts on global advocacy, gender and inclusion, innovation, learning and research.
  • You support the Coordinator in preparing Board meetings and you ensure decisions made by the Board are executed in close collaboration with alliance partners and working group leads.
  • You stimulate Southern leadership and community-led efforts within the working groups. You work with a team of professionals to implement the organisation’s strategy, Love Alliance programme plan, including its ambition towards co-decision making with communities.
  • You have an eye for internal and external developments and actively seek synergy and strategic cooperation within the Love Alliance administrative lead team and outside in the wider Love Alliance.
  • You identify policy, project or funding opportunities.
  • You stay actively informed on trends and opportunities and inform the team’s project portfolio in response to these trends.
