For the Key Populations Team, we are looking for a project assistant. This is a temporary position for 12 months, 20 hours per week.

What does the team do and what are you going to do?

The project assistant will support the Eastern Europe and Central Asia portfolio within Aidsfonds. This portfolio consists of four projects focusing on (1) providing rapid, emergency and low-threshold financial support to community organisations to address the urgent unmet needs of key populations and to provide uninterrupted services and safety for communities, (2) strengthening community responses to HIV/AIDS and their sustainability, (3) addressing the scarcity and fragmentation of the international funding for key populations in the region. In these projects Aidsfonds operates as involved fundraiser & funder, being the grant manager, fundraiser and co-coordinator of the diverse projects together with the local community organisations. The project assistant will work on the projects together with the project team, consisting of a project lead, a project officer, another project assistant, a business controller, and fundraising and marketing experts.

Your main tasks:

  • Support in the administrative side of grant management, including carrying out due diligence,  corresponding with partners, preparing contracts with partner organisations, monitoring the timeliness and completeness of files and keeping registrations in the relevant systems up to date.
  • Support the project team in making notes of meetings with partner organisations and organising official translations when needed.
  • Responsible for the layout of documents, collects information from partner organisations and supports in collecting information for reporting and our communications.
  • Play a supportive role in other projects of the international department based on affinity, interests and needs throughout the year.

  • planning to stay in the Netherlands for at least a year

Do you have

  • Knowledge of or affinity with HIV/AIDS and SRHR and the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region
  • Experience in or affinity with grant administration
