ToR Consultancy – HIV Advocacy with Geneva-based agencies

Aidsfonds is looking for a new Consultant to cover HIV advocacy with Geneva-based agencies. Geneva represents an important arena for Aidsfonds and Love Alliance global advocacy efforts. Together with a team of global advocates, based in Amsterdam, Brussels and Washington, DC, the Geneva-based consultant will contribute to the implementation of Aidsfonds and Love Alliance advocacy priorities (improved access to health, improved access to funding, improved access to justice, rights and civic space, movement building), aiming to influence Geneva-based institutions, working with Geneva-based stakeholders and partners, and opening inroads to Geneva-based decision making for community partners from Aidsfonds focus countries.


We are looking for a freelance colleague for the period June-December 2021, with strong experience in HIV, Global Health, Human Rights, Gender and advocacy. Aidsfonds is looking to employ a permanent Geneva-based colleague again as of 2022, or once COVID-related measures are lifted to enable face-to-face meetings, events and networking again.

About the Love Alliance

The Love Alliance is a 5 year (2021-2025) advocacy partnership between Aidsfonds, AFE MENA, GALZ, GNP+, ISDAO, SANPUD, Sisonke and UHAI-EASHRI, funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Together, we invest in addressing structural barriers to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), including gender inequality, decriminalisation, financing for key populations1, and increased access to health and justice.


Consultant objectives

  1. Implement policy and advocacy activities on the following Aidsfonds/Love Alliance priorities as relevant to the Geneva-based institutions and donor agencies:

    • HIV, Global Health and Financing

    • Access to Health/Universal Health Coverage

    • Gender Equality and other social enablers

    • Pediatric HIV and Youth

  2. Contribute to overall policy and advocacy team meetings, policy development and


  3. Develop and maintain a relevant network of UN, multilateral, member states and civil

    society stakeholders

  4. Identify opportunities for Aidsfonds fundraising with Geneva-based institutions
