Consultancy: Love Alliance’s Gender & Youth Inclusion Working Group Facilitation

Consultancy: Love Alliance’s Gender & Youth Inclusion Working Group Facilitation

The Love Alliance partners are looking for a consultant who can work with a young co-consultant to facilitate the meetings and activities of the programme’s Gender and Youth Inclusion (GYI) working group.

About the Love Alliance GYI Working Group

Gender, youth and inclusion are an integral part of Love Alliance – an SRHR partnership built on the principle of leaving no one behind. The Gender and Youth Inclusion Working Group was put in place to coordinate the implementation of the consortium’s gender-sensitive approach and to safeguard our commitment to ethical and meaningful engagement, and participation of young key populations.

The working group will strengthen the impact of Love Alliance’s interventions by building partners’ and grantees’ capacity on gender transformative approaches and ethical meaningful engagement, and participation of young key populations.

More importantly, the GYI working group will create platforms to sparkle a strong, vibrant and diverse pan-African movement of YPLHIV and young key populations, committed to promoting access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for people most marginalized and affected by HIV.
In 2022, the main objectives of the GYI working group are:

  • Coordinate the understanding and implementation of gender transformative approaches (processes and interventions) in Love Alliance
  • Ensure ethical and meaningful engagement and participation of young key populations in Love Alliance
  • Sparkle movement building across Love Alliance’s communities.

Consultant and co-consultant key responsibilities

  • Plan, mobilize and facilitate monthly meetings with members of the gender and inclusion working group.
  • Lead / supervise the development of activities supported by small task teams within the working group:
    • Develop Love Alliance’s Gender Diversity and Youth Inclusion Road Map to create a common and clear understanding on that gender-transformative approaches and youth’s ethical and meaningful engagement and participation mean in practice. This will be done by identifying best practices and blind spots across Love Alliance partners and grantees (The consultant must define
the best methodology and timeline to develop the Road Map with the rest of the working group). The development methodology can include online and in-person consultations and workshops.
    • Plan and support the organization of capacity building activities alongside Love Alliance grantees and partners. The activities must be in line with priority needs identified in the roadmap as well as with other specific demands from Love Alliance partners.
    • Lead the development of an advocacy tool kit, mapping key advocacy platforms and best practices for advocating for gender equality, women empowerment, SOGI and SRHR issues.
    • Facilitate the development of campaign messaging and approach together with the members of the GYI working group, and with guidance and support from Love Alliance’s communications and advocacy working groups.
    • Facilitate key administrative decisions within the working group – such as most adequate co-leadership, membership and processes.
    • Support GYI leads in the development of annual reports
