Concerns about Ukraine: Fear of serious disruption of HIV care

Aidsfonds is shocked by what is currently happening in Ukraine. We strongly condemn the aggression and violence directed at Ukraine. Aidsfonds is also very concerned about the physical and mental safety of our community partners in Ukraine, who play an indispensable role in reaching those most affected by HIV with information and health services. We fear that these services may be severely disrupted, again leaving those most marginalized most affected. We stand in solidarity with our partners and will work to support them in any way we can.

We condemn the aggression and the military invasion of Russia in Ukraine. It will have devastating consequences for the population. I am particularly very worried about the security of our partners with whom we work together in Ukraine, and I worry about the future of people living with HIV and the LGBTIQ+ community. They deserve peace and support. Aidsfonds will continue to offer that, also in these very difficult circumstances.
