A story of change: the founding of a community-led clinic

This story of change describes the founding of Health Options for Young Men on HIV/AIDS/STI (HOYMAS) and the steps leading to the opening of their community-led clinic. It is a story about Kenyan sex workers unifying their voices and being heard by their government, as well as taking the provision of sex worker-friendly services into their own hands. HOYMAS has grown as a professional sex worker-led organisation and has partnered with the Kenya Sex Workers Alliance (KESWA).

HOYMAS and KESWA are partners of Aidsfonds and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. They are financed through the Bridging the Gaps and Partnership to Inspire, Transform and Connect the HIV response (PITCH) programmes, and they are members of the Global Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP).
